Petrov
Petrov is a Charlotte indie rock band that’s made a bold mark on
the local scene with their raw sound and emotional depth.
I led art direction for Petrov’s self-titled LP, designing the cover artwork
for the album and three lead singles. The visuals reflect the band’s raw emotional energy and punk ethos, grounded in a surreal,
otherworldly aesthetic.

LP Cover
The band asked for a metallic object inspired by Meshuggah’s Chaosphere mixed with Y2K and hyperpop aesthetics. Hot pink felt like the right choice: aggressive, synthetic, and energized. I reimagined what outer space would look like under a dreamy lens and let the sphere hover in this saturated, surreal cosmos.

Read the Room
The first single in the series. Aiming to develop a dreamscape around the sphere,
I photographed the rose garden and built the scene through compositing.
Setting the barbed sphere among soft petals and sunlight gives it this
eerie tension. That contrast mirrors the song’s emotion: gorgeous vocals,
but biting lyrics.
I captured some roses swaying in the wind in Sweden, which became the base for the artwork.

You’re It
Here, the sphere floats in a dark blue-violet void, surrounded by others—almost like atoms suspended in space. It quietly hints at where the sphere came from.
The song explores the moment someone realizes what love actually feels like, and how natural it can be with the right person.

Protector
For the final single cover, I wrapped the sphere in a sweeping chain — a symbol of emotional weight and feeling bound. It nods to the song title, Protector, and ties into another track, Hex, hinting at a kind of quiet mysticism.
